The first meeting of the International Science Advisory Board (ISAB) of the Geohazards project took place on 25 and 26 April 2024. The meeting was hosted by the Faculty of Science, Charles University and took place on the Albertov campus in Prague. Whereas Prof. Ricardo Machado Trigo from the Faculty of Science, University of Lisbon (Portugal) was connected online, other ISAB members attended the meeting in person: Prof. Juraj Majzlan from Friedrich-Schiller-University in Jena (Germany), Prof. Livia Ludhova from the Physics Institute, RWTH Aachen University, and Neutrino group, Forschungszentrum Jülich (Germany), Prof. Ivo Herle from Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering, Technical University of Dresden (Germany), and Prof. Radim Vácha, director of the Research Institute for Soil and Water Conservation (Czech Republic), who represents the applied sector. The presentations given by the WPs’ leaders were followed by a discussion about the future of the project with many inspiring recommendations regarding publications of the results and the focus on interdisciplinarity. The official meeting was followed by the visit of key laboratories and infrastructures used within the project. The Geohazards team and the ISAB are looking forward to the following meeting planned for February 2025.
