This summer, the Dendroecology Working Group (https://web.natur.cuni.cz/physgeo/dendro/) established a large network of dendrometer monitoring plots in the Jeseníky Mountains, located in the northeastern Czech Republic. Dendrometers record sub-hourly variations in stem size, including radial growth caused by cambial activity and stem shrinkage driven by transpiration. Through this network, we are contributing to the pan-European dendrometer initiative led by the University of Bristol, expanding beyond our previous dendrometer sites in the Czech Republic, Spain, Norway, and Sweden.
