This week, the Dendroecology Working Group (https://web.natur.cuni.cz/physgeo/dendro/) has installed two stations measuring sapflow in the Jeseníky Mountains. These measurements provide crucial insights into tree water use, helping to understand how trees regulate transpiration and respond to environmental factors such as drought, temperature fluctuations, and soil moisture availability. By monitoring sapflow, we can assess the impact of climate change on forest ecosystems, evaluate tree health and growth dynamics, and improve predictions of future forest resilience under changing climatic conditions.
